440 and 480 ignition system

i am looking at getting a volvo 480 but the ignition system has failed!!
i have got a volvo 440 with the same size engine i was wondering if anybody
knew if the ignition systems are the same and if the good one would replace
the faulty one in the 480 thanks for your help
