Hi all,
I just purchased this beast, what a great car.

I would like to remove the cassette deck that is in there, but it is not a
Volvo stardard head unit, it is made by Panasonic. Tried easing it out but
it just does not want to come.

Can anyone tell me how to get the side panels off the centre console to get
at the back of this unit please?

Only other fault I can see with this car is the stardard fault with oldies,
the fuel gauge always shows empty.

Many Thanks

Simon

If the radio is above the center dash vents, open the glove box door,
remove the 7 visible screws and pull out the glove box, door and all.
If it's in the lower position, below the heater controls, remove the top
screw at the side of the console (should have a large head) and the
quarter turn plastic screw about a foot below that. The side panels are
now just hooked at the front. There are also 2 screws hidden in the
carpet, just below the radio, if you want to pull the front panel
forward.

Replace tt with t (twice!) and remove parentheses to email me directly.
(But I check the newsgroup more often than this email address.)

Thanks for the pointers, will have a look tomorrow.
