    Car running fine. Filled up w/ 11 gal. gas and when started "check
    engine" light came on and stayed on. Car appears to run OK. Checked
    for codes and got 2-3-2 and 1-3-1 in that order. Couldn't find info
    in Bentley for meaning of these codes when check engine light remains
    on. Any idea what's indicated?
    Thanks.

    Hi Bill,

    I got this from;

    http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/EngineOBDCodes.htm

    These are for the Bosch LH2.4 Fuel Injection System, so I hope it's of some
    value to you and your 240.

    Code 2-3-2 = Fuel trim (Lambda control) too lean or too rich at idle.
    If too rich: high fuel press., leaking injector.
    Symptoms - Idling problems.

    Code 1-3-1= Ignition System RPM signal missing on starting. Wiring Fault or
    RPM sensor bad.
    Symptoms - Engine will not
    start................(Obviously this does not add up in your case.)

    Good Luck.
