Hi there !! I am the happy owner of a 1995 940, that is not driven much as
replacement for my retired 86 245 with over 275K miles, anyway, my wife
complained that the car left her stranded and the transmission felt as if it
was in neutral, engine revs, but car does not move. After shutting off the
car for 10 or 15 minutes, restarted the card and was able to drive to her
work. I thought it was low transmission fluid, checked the level, it was on
the normal range, above minimum, added a quart of transmission fluid anyway
and drove the car back home without any problems. Upon close inspection of
the transmission fluid, it was discolored and did not smell right, the
radiator overflow reservoir is very dirty on the inside, and I am suspecting
    cross contamination.

How can I tell if the radiator is damaged and allowed transmission fluid and
water to mix, ? and what does the group suggest?, I am thinking about a
transmission flush and refill, but I want to do it after I am certain that
the radiator is OK. The car runs fine and does not overheat or hesitates.

    Thanks
