The temp gauge in my 1988 740T was sticking, but I could make it work by flicking the instrument panel cover with my finger. Then it stopped working altogether. I read that someone had fixed a similar problem by lubricating the gauge's bearings with light machine oil, so I thought I'd try that. I have the instrument cluster out of the car, but can't see how to access the gauge. Any suggestions?
