    I have a '96 850 Turbo wagon. Manufacture date is in '95. I purchased
an FOB on eBay. They indicated that it should work with my car,
however it does not. It does not look like the one that does work,
which I came by from someone off this forum (Thank you, Gameplayer!!).

I paid $45.52 + s/h for this thing that doesn't work for me. It does
not have any numbers on the back, but it is stamped w/ 'volvo' so I
know it's legit. You can view it here:

I think it's one of the harder ones to come by. I can just go on eBay
and buy another one (or sell this one), but I thought I'd check here
to see if anyone was in a similar predicament as I'm in. I need the
    one that has P/N: 9148646.

email me at if you have the remote I need and you
    want to swap.

    Thanks!

Looks a lot like the one I use on my 850.. but $45 is just $5-10 below the
    dealer-price here in norway.

(my fob actually has the lock/unlock on one button and panic on the other)

    Pardon my ignorance...

I thought that they needed to be code-matched to the car? Otherwise
every Volvo in the lot would unlock when you pressed the button ?

You program the car to only listen to up to five remotes :)

    As usual, smart Volvo thinking.
