computer diagnostics

    My 30,000 mile service occurred last week. It requires checking the volvo's
    diagnostic system with a computer. Are volvo dealers and service providers
    the only place this service can be obtained or does the good service shops
    have this capability?

    What vehicle...some things can be read off at a general garage, others
    require the Volvo Vadis unit
