Cooling fans on a V40

Hi

I have a 1998 petrol V40. There are two cooling fans in the engine
compartment (a big one and a small one). The big one comes on when the
engine gets hot, but the small one never runs. Is this normal, should
I be worried ?

Turns out its the fan for the air conditioning.
