Cracked and crackier dash

My 83' dash is cracked(and faded) and getting crackier. I will paint the dash
with a vynal paint the color of the original. There is an epoxy repair for
vynal but I want to know, does it work? Will the epoxy repair shine through the
paint? Has anyone done this and how has it turned out?

If you do find a perfect dash at a salvage yard. I believe that they can be
painted with the appropriate paint of course. At the moment I can not
recall what paint you actually use but a paint shop may be able to help you
