Few wee problems on 87 240GLI

    Hi,

I have switched allegiance from that other Swedish car manufacturer
and bought a 87 240GLi STW. As you would expect with a car that has
235k km on the clock it has a few wee issues:

    1) Engine runs on a bit after turn off. Presume that the fixes for the
440gl posted previously are the same. I think that it is running to
richly as when you accelerate hard then take your foot off there are
over-run burbles from the exhaust. How easy is that to adjust on fuel
inj.? I have only adjusted carbs before.

    2) Shakes incredibly on start up (esp when cold). Soon as engine is
going this stops. Is this just some crazy 240 tradition?

    3) Front end seems to sit too high. I have looked at other 240s (and
there are a lot of 240s to look at in Helsinki) and they seem more
level. Have back shocks gone? Car does have a tow bar... (Of course it
does, it is an old 240 estate!)

4)Heated seats dont work. Light comes on on passenger switch, not on
    drivers.

5)Petrol gauge always sits beyond max. Strangely this condition
developed between agreeing to buy the car and collecting it! I
understand this is a standard old 240 fault.

    6) Petrol pump is a bit nosiy. How long do they go on after starting
    to wheeze?

That is about it! As you can see it was well worth the 1800euros.

Thanks in advance for all your assistance.
