Selling my 740 GL, it's got 86,030 on the clock at this precise moment,
fully serviced, 11 months MOT, five months Tax.
It's in Dunfermline, Scotland. New exhaust for the MOT, everything works on
this car including the headlight wash wipes, and the tailgate lock.
Looking for £500 or thereabouts.

3 weeks tax, needed new front discs and pads, last recorded service
1999.

Not quite in the same league then is it ???? Years MOT is worth £250, 6
months road tax £90, mileage with history at 86,000 not 161,000, everything
working A1, no rust etc etc. Seems fair to me. If you want an auction price
go to the auction and gamble.

If you could hang on to it until my '87 740 wears out, I'll have for
the asking price, no haggling. Should only be about another 15 years
at this rate.

In 15 years, my car will still be the same, pass the MOT etc. etc. If I
haven't sold it it by then, it's yours !!! but probably for £2000 cause it
will be a classic by then LOL

If it wasnt 100 mile drive (200 round trip) I might have been interested
in having a look - it sounds a nice clean example .

But given petrol prices the way they are I think £350-£400 is a bit more
realistic , Assume your selling it for this reason .

you;d be better off contacting the Volvo Owners Club and advertising it
there, demand for a clean, straight good order will be alot higher with
them.

No, you're just strange.

Not strangely curious? No? Oh well. I suppose this means I forfeit the
cash. ;-(

Don't get ideas about your station - to be strangely curious you've got
to be a David Bowie or a Jean-Paul Sartre.
Lol , just seen these ramblings. Sorry - money well and truly spent. : )

Ramblings? How dare you, sir! This is the finest *wibbbling* that
newsgroups can provide. Mere rambling is just the flapping fingers
of amateurs.
*Wibbling*, on the other hand or, indeed, other wibble can go on for
days, but seem to the readers, months. Why, a fine wibbler can not only
take a topic and move it from its original intention but completely
derail the topic, move to something else and draw others into it too.

Now, while I certainly can wibble, I am a mediocre performer at best
compared to some of the wibble-masters I have met.
I recall now the first wibble master...............

<drifts off into a wibble that will probably include the phrase 'these were
all lush green newsgroups when I were a lad'> :-)

Wibble....

"Stuart Gray" Wibbled most seriously:
"Tom Saul" Attemped the ranting wibble, which should not be attempted by
minors, adults acting like minors and strangely miners:
Wibble....

Ah, nuts! I can't believe I didn't see that gaping hole in my argument.
Still, never mind, the better wibble simply won the day. ;-(
