I'm going to replace the Blower Motor myself in the next few weeks. Any
suggestions or guidance would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks.

It's pretty easy. You need to remove the glovebox, panel over the
passenger's feet and knee bolster if fitted. Then it's right in front
    of you.

Make sure you don't just need to replace the "blower resistor"- about
$75 online and located on the bottom of the passenger side duct
work-follow the wires back from the blower motor- If you can run the
motor with 12v to the wires direct to the motor, it could be this
resistor unit. Held in by only two screws, it has a large black finned
    heatsink built into it.

Guidance on how to do a blow job!?

Sorry, I could not resist that bad one. Its friday... :->

The Hayes book on Volvo x70 would suffice I think.
Good sites with 850/x70 maintenance tips:
    http://www.volvospeed.com/maintence.htm
    http://kinovolvo.velez.ws/

And then there is of course the expensive but quite good Volvo service
    manual for x70
