Jamie

My 1987 740 is gold/beige. The front bumper is black and beneath this
is the front scoop which is also gold/beige. It is scuffed and
scratched and rubbed. Eventually when I re-paint the car, I'll paint
the scoop also.

Until then, I was thinking of going black - either with bumper paint or
bedliner or undercoating.

Has anyone had experience with any of the above and which would be the
most durable and least ugly?

I've never used bumper paint, bedliner and undercoating might be more
dull than I want.

Thanks!

Try black or Gold anti stone-chip paint. Goes on a treat and stays on if
keyed first.

All the best, Peter.

Peter, I'm not used to these terms:
"Goes on a treat and stays on if
keyed first. "

Is "goes on a treat" means "goes on easy?"
And is "Keying" using sandpaper, or prepping the surface?

I've been away from my buddies who use the Queen's English for a little
while. I guess I should say, "bollocks to any bloke who says I won't
have this car sorted soon."

;-)

Jamie you are correct in your assumptions, which means yes to both, but not
necessarily using sandpaper. About 800 grit wet&dry would be plenty rough
enough.

All the best, Peter.
