I love my S60R! I have to drive a long way to work every weekday and the car
makes the journey so much more enjoyable.
Mine is a six speed manual, black with the dark blue interior. It has done
just over 100k kilometres in 4.5 years that the cars been on the road. I
have owned it for 2.5 of those years and I never get sick of it or bored. It
also never ceases to amaze me when it comes to performance. I think after I
finish doing the mods that I will try to take it out on the track so that I
can truly appreciate what it can do.
I really have found a car that suits me down to the ground, that's why I'd
much rather "play" with it rather than go and buy something else. I can
honestly see myself hanging on to the car until it's least 10 years old.
Thanks for the tip on the V70R site, I have seen plenty of S60R sites, but
never thought about V70R however, same motor, so it makes sense! Thanks for
your response and the tip.
Just on putting a chip in it, I have been told it's better to get the whole
computer taken out, sent to Europe (somewhere, not sure) for the original
computer to be "re-wired". It cost about the same as a "add on" chip, but
apparently is a better option. The down size is that it's a 10 day wait with
no car.
All of the mods together take it from 220kws to around 270kws plus. Not sure
of the torque improvements but close to 500Nms, I would guess. So it's a big
boost in performance to say the least. That will make me smile!
Cheers,
Mark
Mark...you are on the right track...imho...you might want to check out
www.v70r.com...eventhough they are a "wagon" group...some of the
mod discussions are informative for the "v/s60r's"........generally
though
these cars come out of the factory "modded"...i see folks doing three
main thing to even make em' faster.....1) chips 2) exhaust systems
3) sway bars / shocks / suspensions ...... cheers...how di ya like
the
s60r ? i picked up a nice used 04 wagon and love it......
