Poor starting in the winter

    V70 TD 2.5
    Last winter changed glowplugs/fitted a one way valve in fuel supply but still having problems starting when temperature drops below about 10celcius.
    When it starts up a lot of smoke then completely clears and then everything ok. No problems in the summer Any bright ideas
