peugeot, and this part is very expensive 350 ? , sorry for my english, I m

I think that would also be called the "harmonic balance", which is the
pulley connected to the forward end of the crankshaft. Those generally
can leak if the seals go bad behind them. I think because of it's
location that it may cost a bit more than usual - but I can't say how
much work is involved if seals have to be replaced.

Also, I am not sure if the engine has to be pulled. Perhaps someone can
    chime in?

PS: would you be at all familiar with the Poiteau region of France? My
ancestors came from there and I'm trying to learn more.

    Merci.

  4. Your english is much better than my french - better than my daughter's
    french even!

Our 1985 765T needed a damper (harmonic damper, looks like the crankshaft
pulley) at about 200K km. The outer part has a rubber layer to fasten it to
the inner part and the inner part, and the rubber broke - a common
happening. The price is not surprising.

Merci beacoup Franeric.

Oui? Oberkampf?

    "Cajun".

Bonne chance mon ami -- laissez les bon temps roullez!

Whew! It's been a LONG time since I tried to write or speak in French.
