Vehicle is a 1986 740 wagon, 208k, B230F, manual trans. Fuel injection /
ignition systems are LH 2.2 and EZK117 respectively.
Per the title, a 'misfire' condition with severe power loss occurs under
load between engine speeds of 1800 and 2800 RPM. Otherwise a smooth power
delivery above or below that range. Engine also runs very high at idle
(>1600 rpm), for which I have grounded out at the CIS test point as a
'remedy'.
Ignition primary components check out OK. Engine sensor voltages and
resistance measurements at the FI ECU seem to be within limits.
Recent component replacements include plugs / cap / rotor / wires, fuel
pressure regulator, engine wiring harness, AMM, and timing belt.
Looking forward to the group's input..
Thanks,
Chris
