Hi!

I've had some problems with my Volvo's 5-speed automatic transmission

(manufactured by Aisin-Warner). Problems have occured only occasionally in

the past, but now they are present all the time. For some reason problems

occur only in the wintertime (you know, snow, ice and temperatures below

zero in celsius).

The problem is that, when shífting from second gear to third gear,

autotransmission doesn't shift gear immediately as normally. Instead, there

is a quite long delay (1-2 second) before it couples the third geard.

Because of the delay time engine rews up and coupling of the third gear is

very unpleasant (shock because engine revs too high).

This problem occurs only when accelerating is very moderate. When

accelerating aggressively or normally everything works just fine.

Transmission works normally with all other gears and in all other

conditions.

So, what might be wrong:

a) Software problem?

b) Some sensor problem?

c) Mechanical problem?
