My remote entry plastic case has broken and i am looking at the
Valiant products and am wondering what people's experince is with this
product. Is it easy to install? does it work once installed? etc

Thanks

You will have to remove the old power lock controls and wire up the
new ones. Rather than going through all that hassle have you
considered just replacing the Volvo remote control?

I don't know a thing about Valiant products but my guess is they sell
for $100 at Pep Boys, J.C. Whitney and similar shops. Will they work
- sure. Will they last as long as Volvo equipment - probably not.

You still need a functioning Volvo system, whether there is a remote in the
pot or not. Unless the unit receives the unlock signal from either a remote
or a key-in-the-door , the immobilzer will remain asleep and you won't be
able to start the car.

Get acouple of new remotes and align them to the car. Always some on ebay-
just make sure you get ones with the same code on the back. IPD also sell
just cases if yours is still working...

.

If it is only the plastic case that is broken, you may be able to just buy
another second hand remote (I got one from the wreckers for $10 for my v70 -
it's good going to non volvo wreckers who don't know values) and just pulled
it apart and swapped the inner bits over and all good as new. Ebay may sell
them also - I don't think that you can sync the new to the old yourself, but
just swap the case over.
