I recently had to replace one of the tires off my 2003 S40. I hit a curb
and the tire gashed. I was shocked to find that the tires are $120 each.
Even more shocked to find that they are rated as a "summer" tire. I looked
at replacing it with the CH95 model (instead of the CV95) but was told it is
two different speed ratings. The CH95 tires are less than half the cost
    each.

I was curious what other Volvo owners (S40 or others) preferences are for
    their car's shoes.

    Thanks!

Michelin MXV4+ for our 93' 960 wagon. Very nice tires... they are pretty
damn expensive tho, but probably worth it. We use these tires for summer
only, tho they are all season.

You can be glad you dont have a S80 2,9. Here in Sweden I have to pay 300$
    each for 225 50 R16 W (continental tyres - speed rating 270km/h)...........
