I just changed my spring seats yet again on my 1998 S70 T5 a couple
months ago, and now I'm starting to hear the familiar sound that tells
me that it's on the way out again. Before, I thought maybe the
Bilsteans were killing them, so I switched to the Sachs. That didn't
make any difference.

What could be the root cause of my having to replace the spring seats
so soon?

What specifically is breaking on the seats. If a brand new seat
installed 2 months ago is already disasssembling then there is another
problem completely unrelated to the kind of shock absorbers.

1. How heavy is the driver.
2. Is the car used for racing?

driver weight: 176lb
car is only used for the usual driving; nothing out of the ordinary.

I can't begin to imagine what would cause new seats to disassemble
after 2 months.

You do know he is not talking about the seats you sit on?
