A couple of weeks ago my CD changer refused to accept new CD's, and the
screen came up with an error message. Finally after some playing around, and
    retrying, it did.
A few days ago, the same thing, only this time no amount of finesse or
prayer worked, and then the radio started switching to the cd player for no
    reason.
Took it into the dealer this morning, and they say I need a new radio, as
there is some internal malfunction and they cannot get it open to fix
    it..something about a sealed unit.
Obviously I was not and am not a happy camper, but they said they could sell
me a refurbished unit . If the radios are really sealed units, how are
    refurbished models available.
Has anyone else has a problem like the one described. Does anyone know if
there are silent warranties on this radio.
My 4year/80K warranty expired 10 days ago.
    Thanks

Yes there is no serviceable parts inside for the dealership personal to
repair . The radios are sent back to Volvo who then sends the radios back to
    the manufacturer to repair .
As for any help from your dealer it depends on the service manger he/she
decides if they will provide you with any goodwill to replace your radio if
you are a good customer they might help you but if you purchased the vehicle
& never returned for any work they would not be inclined to spend any of
    there goodwill budget on you

The official count is 343, but there was also a volunteer who lost his life
aiding in the initial rescue efforts. And I will never forget them as long
    as I live,
    nor should any American.
