I have a 95 940-Turbo where the Service Engine light comes on only at
startup and stays on for 2-3 minutes -- then it extinguish. No OBD codes
are set?? Anybody seen this "pattern" before?

  2. This what happened in my 2000 S-40 recently. But it was when it was due for
service, and I'd already set up an appointment. Since the car was serviced,
the light hasn't cme on again.

Are you sure your car isn't due for service?

  3. If this is anything like the other Volvos, that is the oil change reminder
light. It is fixed by removing the little rubber bung from under the
speedo, and pressing the button underneath with a thin-bladed screwdriver or
    some similar tool.

It will come on again in another 5000K or so to remind to again. But you'll
    be ready.

It's the cars friendly reminder that it's due for a service.

I assume that was what was wrong with my 240. I've been experiencing the
    same thing.

So we changed the oil, only to see it come back on. I figured as much as a
hidden button. I'll poke around for this, thanks :)

On the 240 the reset button is on the back of the instrument cluster. Remove
the cover under the dash to access it. It's just to the left of the speedo.
