Had the same problem on my '86 240- never did cure it!Hello Speedometer works intermittently ...mostly not ! Help!
Check the sensor in the differential casing on the back axle.
It's probably dirty from back axle oil, or it may have moved in its
mounting. Very sensitive to clearance from the crown wheel, where it
takes the signal from.
