I have a '94 940 non-turbo, at what mileage point should the timing
belt be replaced? And what is the typical charge for this kind of
    service. Thanks!

The belt should be replaced every 75,000 miles.

No idea what a shop charges for it, I would estimate about $150 assuming the
tensioner is still good, it's about a 2 hour job.

I thought it was 50,000 miles.....?...unless that is for a turbo

    The 960 is 50K, the B230 is a non-interference motor so it's not as
    critical.
