I believe you can use an OBDII scan tool to do this. But I could be wrong.
Where in the world are you located?

In an earlier contribution to this discussion,
I presume that the T refers to the UK registration number prefix?

The procedure differs from model year to model year - but I believe that you
should be able to do yours (and my 99V - but I haven't tried it) with some
combination of pressing the trip reset whilst turning the ignition on. It
has been discussed here in past years - Google is your friend!

this kind of information was send to the group earlier...

< It's real easy, turn your ignition to position I, push and hold the trip
    reset button,
< the milage will go to zero, turn the ignition to position II.
< When the milage returns from zero to what is was let go of the button.
< turn the ignition off and then start the car to ensure that the RSR
    message is reset.

    hope it works...

i havent tried it so cant say anything of it...

    Try this.
    Ignition off.
Push and hold the zeroing button for trip mileage indicator.
ignition on keep holding zeroing button for about 10sec until
servicelight starts to flash release zeroing button.
    Ignition off.
This works on my -98 V70
