    Hi,
I get a juddering when accelerating in my volvo 440, CVT gearbox,
it used to be just when I was turning, now it also happens in a straight
    line.
Could it be a worn engine mounting, as I know one of them is "tired",
and the engine judders when it is first started up. Could it be anything
    else?
    Thanks
    Shane

Yes, it could be other things. Some of them may be hazardous to your
health. I suggest you see your neighborhood mechanic before you end up
stranded, if for no other reason than to define the symptoms.

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I've jacked the car up and checked the suspension
components, bottom ball joint, bush, and strut and they all seem ok.
I've checked for excess play, and there doesn't seem to be any, except
for the drive shafts. The car is an automatic, and when in park there is
a noticeable amount of play from the drive shafts when I turn the wheel by
hand, could this be the cause?.
    Thanks
    Shane
