Volvo problems

I took a 93 volvo 240 wagon to my mechanic to get his opinion on
buying it. He gave me the thumbs up! There was an oil leak which the
seller was happy to pay to have fixed. His diagnosis was the oil pan
he made the repairs and it still leaked and now the car constantly
stalls. Took it back he replaces rear main seal and now the car won't
even start. Mechanic told me it was the fuel pump so considering what
I paid for the car & that the seller paid for the oil leak problem I
gave him the go ahead to replace the pump. That did not work.
Considering the car ran so well before the motor was lifted for the
oil leak repairs does anyone know where I should now be looking? I get
the feeling he'd rather just keep replacing things till he finally
hits the jackpot.

Maybe you could just pay his boat payments directly rather than have him
launder them masquerading as bad parts. Did it occur to you that your
mechanic may know nothing about Volvos. The proof is in what they fix,
not how convincing they sound about why they keep doing the wrong thing.
In case you didn't notice, your problems are much bigger now than before
and keep getting bigger.

Hmmm, sounds like you have a mechanic working on your car who is not
familiar with Volvos and that he or she is making a real hash of it. At
this point you need to find a REAL Volvo mechanic to sort out the mess.
