Hi there, i recently purchased a volvo v40 1.9td, and as i'd just got
it, i thought it would be prudent to get a genuine volvo service.
After the service i paid the £200 and was told the car was in pretty
good condition. but despite this, the car smokes pretty heavily, i'd
assumed that this would be something that they'd look at (and frankly
was my reason for taking the car in)
today i was driving at around 20mph whaen the car juddered to a halt
with oil pissing out of the bottom, it seems that the gearbox has
destroyed itself leaving me with a potentially hefty bill. the question
is, should the garage have any culpability in this? would it be
something they should have spotted etc?
coming at the end of a week where i've been forced to fork out £1000 on
a taillift repair for my van, this has just about pushed me over the edge...
