Me again .... yup, yet another question!!

I have just been reading the .pdf brochure, on the VOC website, for the 2003
year s60.
It list only one diesel, listed as 'D5'

However, the current line-up has 2 diesel engines.
The 2.4D rated at 168bhp (same as the 2003 D5) and the D5, with 180bhp.

Which year saw the introduction of the higher rated D5 engine?

As I'm looking for a diesel S60, I want to be sure what I may be getting for
my money.
Many of the diesels in my budget are listed as D5 models, 2003/4 year.

TIA

Model year 2006 came out of the existing D5 two new models (at least here in
Sweden).
The "D" rated at 126 bhp.
The "2.4D" rated at 163 bhp.
The "D5" rated at 185 bhp.

The only difference between the engines are software setup.

All D5 before 2006 are at 163 bhp.

Many thanks Erik

We dont get the 126 bhp model over here.

Buy the 163 and chip it. Result is 190 or 195bhp and 300ft lbs and better
mpg than stock. Oh and save ~1500quid.

A diesel S60? I don't suppose it's available in the US?

What sort of fuel economy do these get?

A friend has a 2004 163bhp D5 which got 43mpg average from 0 to 30,000
miles. He then had it chipped and its now averaging 46mpg. (current mileage
80k)

Very very grunty- lots of Torques!
