V70 Volvo owners. I have an opportunity to purchase this wagon (Automatic
trans., 6 cylinder, AWD) with 64k miles (it was a leased vehicle).

Am curious to hear from volvo owners how they like this model year (or
similar). Is this a reliable volvo model? Are there any common problems I
should be made aware? Any feedback would be most appreciated.

Friends of mine have a 2001 V70 (same car, just 1 year older, and not
AWD)... No major issues with the exception of the DSTC system, which has
been fixed.

They have 140K Kms on it.... Just normal maintenance stuff, and a few
software updates.

BTW it's a 5-cylinder engine, not 6.

As far as I know, the '02 V70 is good. I have a '99 and love it.

6 cyl ? I thought that they had retained the 2.4L 5 cyl ?

It is a 5 cylinder engine. I am only one voice, but I have had a lot
of things go wrong with my 98 V70. It needed a tow out when the
starter assembly broke. 2 window motors. and lately, on a 15 minute
ride to work, not even on a highway, it started emitting fumes. The
radiator blew, and they made me replace a head gasket and other stuff
to the tune of $3000!!!
the car only has 80K. I have not been happy with it. Too much
maintanence. Not a model of reliability.
