is there any way to adjust the FWD/RWD behavior of a v70 AWD? I drove
one once and felt like I was in a FWD car /w occasional RWD boost. I
happen to like my cars RWD (240dl stick).

    thanks!

The 1st generation AWD's are not, to my knowledge as an interested
owner, adjustable in any way as to front v rear power distribution.
Considering how little difference in speed is acceptable to the viscous
coupling, this is hardly surprising. I must say, though, that operation
has always been seamless (98 V70XC AWD).

The 2nd generation AWD's fall into the realm of the
computer-controlled-everything, so whatever "adjustment" there might be
would not be readily accessible. Also, since the Haldex system uses a
clutch pack (it's on or it's off), wear on same would hardly support
much variance in power distribution in this application. Also,
operation of the system has always been totally seamless, as well, since
application is *so* fast at 0% engagement to 100% in 1/6 of a wheel
    rotation (02 S60AWD)!
