Hi,I am new here. I have recently purchased a 1996 850 volvo and and was replacing the ignition switch and the case that contains the wires that is connected to the switch was brittle and it came apart resulting in the wires becoming mixed up.. can any one render assistance in helping me in identifying the correct wire colours to the pins on the switch..I noticed that the pins on the switch are numbered. Thanks for any assistance you can render..

I'm sure you managed since that was 2 years ago. But, for anyone else needing assistance. I found these sources helpful to identify the wires by color.
