Rim informations

Discussion in 'General Motoring' started by Tavish Muldoon, Nov 15, 2004.

  1. I have 2 sets of tires on rims: P18570R14

The rims fit a Volvo 740 GLE 1986. They have 5 spokes. I want to
sell them - but need to know the spoke size and main hole size.

How would I find this out. All I know is the tire into (above) but
    know nothing about the rims.

    Help?

    Thanks,

    Tmuld.

The fact that they fit your Volvo means their bolt pattern is 5x108.

Now, your Volvo's centerbore is 65mm I believe; however, if the rims aren't
OEM, then their centerbore could be 65 or more if they're using centering
    rings.

And of course they're 14" in diameter, but you already knew that. :)
If you look in the back, you may be able to find out how wide they are and
    what offset they have.

    Cheers,

    Pete

  3. The information is usually in the form "6J x 14 x 25". The 6J refers to to
rim width and profile; 14 is rim diameter and 25 refers to the offset of the
wheel when mounted on it's hub. This information is usually to be found on
the front face of the bolt/stud hole area, hidden when hubcaps are in place.

    Cheers, Peter.
