1985 760 Turbo. The other day the chime for the key in ignition wouldn't turn
off when the engine started and kept ringing. (Can only take about 10 min. of
that believe me). Found the #5 fuse was burnt out. Tried to replace 3 times,
kept blowing fuses. I found the wire to the light under the hood touching the
hood. This stopped the chime (thank God), but I don't have dash lights nor
driver's side parking lights in front and rear. Any ideas where to look for the
short?

On an unrelated front, the third spark plug is stuck in the head. Won't turn.
Garage guy even gave up on it. Any ideas on how to get it unstuck?

Thanks,
Joe

Is it still blowing fuses?

Proceed carefully; damaging the threads in the head can get a lot more
expensive than a sparkplug.

I'd park it on Friday evening, let it cool an hour or so, then start
applying a good penetrating oil like Liquid Wrench. WD-40 is not a
good choice, it's not really a lube or penetrant, but a protective spray.

Reapply several times at intervals of a few hours through Saturday and
see if it'll come loose using a breaker bar; perhaps put a good strain
on it, then tap the end if the breaker bar in the same direction as
you're pulling. That might get it out.
